At OPEN THE GATES MINISTRIES evangelism in townships and taxi ranks play a major role.

The majority of the people in South Africa make use of taxis for transport.

We share the Gospel to taxi drivers, the passangers, people on the street and we go from door to door in townships.

Our focus is not to feed people food, but to share the Gospel.

We give Christian tracts and Bibles for free, especially when a commitment was made to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. We take the person’s name and number and we pray for that person every day. We also have a team of mature Christians who phone the list of names and do follow up in their mother tongue.

New believers are connected to evangelical churches near their homes.

OPEN THE GATES MINISTRIES is not a church. We strive to parnership with the churches in the area where we minister. The new believers must be discipled by those churches.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38 NET

We thank the Lord for people willing to join our quest to spread the Gospel. We need more workers. Some people help us now and then and others help us all the time. We had our first volunteer conference in 2021. We look after our volunteers. They need money for rent, food, airtime, transport and school fees for their children. We are always in need of more Bibles and tracts.

There are many other groups that do evangelism on the streets as well. We love to do projects together with them.

There are many churches who would like to equip and train their members to do evangelism. Pastor Clarke does short practical cources over 3 lessons. Please contact us if you are interested.
